Change Checker Live Coin Bingo!
It’s time to dust off your dabbers because LIVE Coin Bingo is back!
You don’t need to be a bingo buff to get involved, all you need is your 50p collection to hand, our helpful key and your Change Checker bingo sheet.
To get involved just follow these simple steps:
- Gather your 50p collection so that your coins are to hand!
- Download your Change Checker Live Bingo Key and your Change Checker Live Bingo Scorecard print them out!
- Head to our Youtube channel Thursday 19th November, at 12.15 pm and tune in to our LIVE Coin Bingo video.
- When a number is called, check your Bingo Key to see which 50p it corresponds to. If you’ve got this 50p in your collection, place it on your scorecard!
- If you manage to fill all 9 squares with the 50p coins that are called out, take a photo of your completed Bingo Scorecard and email [email protected]
The first person to get ‘BINGO’ and email in, will be winning a Change Checker Album and a set of THREE Trading Cards!
There will also be two runner up prizes of three Trading Cards for the two next complete scorecard owners!
So, start gathering your 50ps, print off your Bingo kit, and tune back in to our Youtube channel, Thursday 19th November, at 12.15pm.

First-Ever UK Dinosaur 50p Series Released!
A brand new United Kingdom 50p series has been announced and the news is so colossal it’s sure to shake the coin collecting community!
The new series celebrates the Discovery of Dinosaurs with three brand new 50p coins.
British anatomist Richard Owen proposed the term ‘Dinosauria’ in 1842 and this comprised the first three dinosaurs to be discovered – the Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, and Hylaeosaurus.
Excitingly, this is the FIRST-TIME ever Dinosaurs have featured on UK coinage so we’re very excited by this numismatic first!
What’s more, this new series of 50p coins has been issued in partnership with the Natural History Museum so the coins are sure to be popular with palaeontologists and collectors alike!
So without further delay, let’s take a closer look at the designs of these coins…
Hylaeosaurus 50p
The final coin in the incredibly popular Dinosauria 50p series has JUST been released and features the Hylaeosaurus.
It is estimated this dinosaur was around five metres long, however limited remains have been found of this particular species…
Designer, Robert Nicholls wanted to pay homage to the life-sized Crystal Palace Park Hylaeosaurus sculpture and we think he’s done an amazing job with this truly unique coin design.
This is the final coin in this series and has been officially released today!

Iguanodon 50p
The second coin in the incredibly popular Dinosauria 50p series features the Iguanodon.
Distinctively, the Iguanodon had large spikes on their thumbs which you can see clearly in the intricate details of the coin design.
It is thought these spikes could have been used for defence against predators. As Iguanodons were large herbivores, it is unlikely these would have been used for hunting.

Megalosaurus 50p
The first coin in the series was released in February and features the Megalosaurus Rex.
‘Megalosaurus’ translates to mean ‘Great Lizard’ and I think it definitely lives up to its name!
Living on earth around 166 million years ago, this great dinosaur could reach up to nine meters in length!
As the first coin in the Dinosaur series, this 50p is available in Gold Proof, Silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated Quality.
So there we have it! A good look at the brand new United Kingdom 50p series celebrating the Discovery of Dinosaurs.
As this is the first time Dinosaurs have ever featured on UK coinage, the coins have been issued in partnership with the Natural History Museum, AND they are brand new UK 50ps (the most collected coin in the country!) we’re certain this series is going to be immensely popular with collectors.

Design your own A-Z 10p!
It’s time to get creative as we challenge Junior Change Checkers to design their very own A-Z 10p!
In 2018, the surprise release of 26 commemorative 10p coins celebrating the A-Z of Great Britain caused quite the stir in the collecting world and have since kick started a nation wide coin hunt!
These sought-after coins have proved incredibly tricky to hunt down, but have certainly caught the imagination of the British public with their unique designs.
And so now we’re calling all our Change Checker Juniors to have a go at designing their very own A-Z 10p.
We’ll be turning the TOP 5 designs into virtual 10p coin animations, so stay tuned to see if your design is selected!
If you’d like to get involved, all you need to do is follow these simple steps:
1. Download this PDF and print it out.
2. Create your A-Z 10p design and fill in the details on the page. You can take inspiration from the UK 10ps listed on our web app!
3. Photograph your design.
4. Post a photo of your design in the comments on this Facebook post [link]
The TOP 5 designs will be brought to life in an animation and featured in a Change Checker video, which will be available to watch on the 13th June.
Entries close at 9am on Tuesday 9th June, so don’t delay!
