And so I’m delighted to give you all the updates we know so far about future King Charles III commemorative coins to look forward to.
Read on to find out what’s on the horizon from the UK’s latest Royal Proclamations and get ready to add these upcoming coins to your collecting wish list!
Upcoming 50p Releases
Red Arrows
Formally known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows are one of the world’s top aerobatic display teams.
Renowned for their speed, agility and trademark Diamond Nine shape formation, the team have been displaying since 1965 and will soon feature for the first time on a UK 50p coin.
The upcoming 50p is set to feature a depiction of three Red Arrow aircraft with their signature smoke trails, with the inscription “RED ARROWS”.
This is certainly a release collectors and Red Arrow fans alike will be looking forward to!
Snowman
It’s been a Christmas tradition to welcome The Snowman onto a new UK 50p and this year is set to be no different, as a new UK Snowman 50p will be released.
The new coin will feature a depiction of The Snowman from the book, placing a star atop a
Christmas tree.
Previous Snowman coins have been some of the most sought-after issues of the year, so you can be sure that collectors will be looking forward to seeing this new coin when it’s released!
Harry Potter
A new Harry Potter 50p is set to cast a spell on collectors this year!
According to the Royal Proclamation, this coin will feature a depiction of Harry Potter being captured by three Merpeople accompanied by the inscription “THE BLACK LAKE”.
Earlier this year, we were treated to a new Harry Potter 50p – with the boy wizard himself flying across the coin as he took part in the challenge of the Winged Keys.
Next up, we travel to the Black Lake for another exciting Harry Potter adventure, brought to life on a UK 50p!
Upcoming £5 Releases
Queen’s Panther
We’ve already seen six Tudor Beasts brought to life on UK £5 coins and it looks as though the next in the line-up is set to feature the Queen’s Panther.
Over 400 years ago Henry VIII commissioned the sculpting of 10 heraldic animal statues. They were produced to represent the ancestry of King Henry VIII and his third wife Jane Seymour. These became known as “The King’s Beasts” and can still be seen to this day, guarding the main entrance to Hampton Court Palace.
Decades of Bond £5 Series
We’re 1 coin away from completing the Decades of Bond £5 coin series, with the final coin still to be released. Each coin in this series celebrates a decade of James Bond films, with iconic imagery from the movies and the film titles from each era repeated in the background.
So far, we’ve seen coins celebrating Bond films of the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and 2010s.
When you consider the huge popularity of the ‘B’ A-Z 10p which was dedicated to James Bond and the 2020 Bond £5 series, there’s no doubt that this theme is loved within the collecting community.
What do you think will feature on the final Decades of Bond £5 coin?
Upcoming £2 Releases
Winston Churchill £2
Usually, all the coins in the Annual Set are individually released throughout the year, however this year is different, as the Winston Churchill £2 will NOT be individually issued. So currently the only way to get your hands on it is in the 2024 Annual Set.
You can secure your 2024 Annual Set for just £42 (+p&p) here >>

Rachel. I am a modest collector of approx 8 years. I am more than a little concerned that coinage designs are nothing new just a change of date and Crown Head Elizabeth 2 / King Charles 3.
Adding up the collection ‘face value’ against ‘400% purchase price paid’ I do wonder if it is worth continued collection as I will have to keep coins til 2150 to break even. Is it the intention to have ‘Dinosaurs’ issued annually as with the Snowman?
Regards
Hi there, whilst it does seem strange that their face value is only £3.88, owning the New UK Coins in Change Checker packaging is the most affordable way to secure them for your collection.
You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for more details about the Dinosaur 50ps!
Kind regards, Kate
