Taking the top spot and crowned UK Coin of the Year 2025 is the Monopoly 50p. A hugely popular release, this playful and instantly recognisable design clearly struck a chord with collectors and voters alike.

Coming in second place is the Stories of the Second World War 50p series. This thoughtful and powerful set of designs was widely praised for its meaningful storytelling and respectful commemoration of a defining moment in history.

Rounding out the top three is The Snowman 50p, a long-standing favourite that continues to delight collectors of all ages. Its timeless illustration and festive charm once again proved popular with the Change Checker community.

We’re celebrating another incredible year of UK coin releases, and now it’s time to crown the UK Coin Design of the Year 2025!
This year has delivered an exceptional range of 50p, £2 and £5 coins. But only one can take the top spot – and we need your help to decide the ultimate winner.
Change Checkers have until 3pm on Thursday 11th December to cast their vote for their favourite Coin of the Year. Whether it’s a design that captured a moment in history, showcased remarkable artistry, or simply became your favourite addition to your collection, now’s your chance to make it count.

I would like to suggest that the coloured 50 pence and £5 coins ( similar to the £5 Freddie Mercury one ) in the future, be included in the Change Checker subscription please.

What would really be nice would be seeing these coins in your everyday change and not have to spend a fortune buying them. I’ve never seen any of these coins and I doubt I am alone in that fact.

I Was lucky enough to Strike my own Red Arrows 50p and also have it signed by all of the 2025 Red Arrow pilots, when they were at the Royal Mint Experience to Strike their own coins,
Recognizing a very hard-working member of the Royal Family often in the background.
Children everywhere love Harry Potter, so this coin will be loved for generations to come
